The goal of this project was to design a pattern on fabric and create a visual story out of it. This particular double sided dress addresses women empowerment in Iran. Iranian women have much more freedom and power than what the media portrays. On one side, the word “freedom” is largely written along with a background poem about freedom. On the other side, an abstract pattern of freedom symbols are put together by a collage. The pattern includes patterns from the tower of freedom, eyes of the people who were looking after freedom in Iran, and some universal freedom symbols such as doves and open handcuffs. The work is photographed infront of the freedom tower in Iran as well as the famous Grand Bazaar.
